Description
Hand-forged from 5160 high-carbon chromium-vanadium American steel, based on William Kelly's 1885 boy's axe design. Layered bevels reduce drag through the cut and simplify sharpening at the field edge. At 2.25 lb, it is light enough for all-day use yet balanced for accurate limbing and kindling splits. Available with a 19" Tennessee hickory handle for pack and camp use, or a 28" handle for heavier two-handed chopping. Optional USA-made leather blade mask included.
