Taza Chocolate stone grinds organic cacao beans into minimally processed, bold-flavored chocolate at their Somerville, Massachusetts factory. Founded in 2005 by Alex Whitmore after apprenticing under a molinero in Oaxaca, Mexico, Taza was the first U.S. chocolate maker to establish a third-party certified Direct Trade Cacao Certification program, paying a premium to farmers above Fair Trade prices.
