TEDCO Toys is an American manufacturer of classic science and educational toys, best known for the Original Gyroscope—a design dating to 1917 that is still handmade and hand-painted at their factory in Hagerstown, Indiana. Founded as the Teetor Engineering Development Company and rooted in inventor Ralph Teetor's legacy (creator of the automobile cruise control), TEDCO has manufactured gyroscopes in Indiana since acquiring the Chandler Company's gyroscope line in 1982. Their toys have won the Parents' Choice Gold Award, appeared in NASA's Toys in Space program, and been featured in STEM classrooms for decades.
