Noble & Cooley

America's oldest drum manufacturer, Noble & Cooley has handcrafted snare drums and kits in Granville, Massachusetts since 1854. Founded by Silas Noble and James P. Cooley, the company pioneered the modern boutique drum movement in the mid-1980s with innovations including steam-bent solid shells, Nodal Point lug mounting, and machine-lathed bearing edges accurate to 1/10,000th of an inch. Every drum leaves the same factory—at 42 Water St., Granville—where the company has operated continuously for 170 years.
